We are sorry to announce that due to several obstacles, Horse Wranglers for Girls has been cancelled this summer.  We plan to offer the camps next year and hope you will be able to join us then.

Experience an amazing week on horseback in the beautiful Wallowa Mountains! Camp includes basic horsemanship, horse care instruction, arena training, horseback games and trail rides. Campers wear approved ASTM riding helmets. Girls will sleep in cozy cabins at Wallowa Lake United Methodist Camp, wake up to hot chocolate, morning devotions and a big warm breakfast. Then they will pack a sack lunch, and ride in a van to the horse arena where they will spend the day with the horse they are assigned for the week. Girls come back to camp in the afternoon for a rest, shower, games, dinner, crafts, Christian programming and campfires.

Learning to care for and manage a horse builds girl’s self-esteem and confidence. Group discussions, new-found friends, positive role models, horses and outdoor worship, all part of God’s grandeur in the Wallowa Mountains… an unbeatable combination for positive spiritual and personal growth! Girls will learn about God’s love for them at this sacred camp!

The first days will be spent learning basic horsemanship and horse safety in the controlled environment of the Yost Family Arena.   Later in the week, campers and staff will take trail rides in various locations in Wallowa County.   The camp will provide transportation to all offsite activities.

Check-in for Horse Wranglers Camp at Wallowa Lake Camp will be from 3pm – 4pm on Sunday, August 12.  Pick-up is at Wallowa Lake Camp at 9:30am Saturday, August 18.
